The Athabasca Health Authority Board of Directors is proud to announce that they have created a Health Careers Bursary Program. This program provides support to residents of the Athabasca Basin who chose to further their post secondary education in Health related careers. This program is open to all full-time students who reside in the Athabasca Basin and are enrolled in a health related field of study. Examples of programs that would be considered for this bursary are:
- Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Intermediate Care Paramedic (ICP)
- Combined Lab/X-Ray Technician (CLXT)
- Special Care Aides (SCA)
- Dental Therapist
- Early Childhood Educators
- Social Work
The
above is only an example of some of the courses available, other health related careers will be considered. Each year there
will be 10 bursaries of $5000.00 each awarded throughout the Athabasca Basin, courses must be one (1) year in length, and the bursary will be paid on an annual basis for a maximum of two (2) years. Courses lasting less than one year will be eligible for a $2500.00 bursary.
To be eligible for consideration, your application must be received by the Athabasca Health Authority no later than June 15 of each year. Please submit the completed application to
