The population of this First Nations Community is 900. The demographics reveal a very young population. There are approximately 350 children in the school. There is an average of 30 births per year. Prenatal moms are sent out to Prince Albert in the 38th week of their pregnancy and until after delivery.
The Primary Health Center is staffed with three primary care nurses, a home care nurse and support staff. The support staffs are employees of the Band. Mandatory programs, regular clinic hours and 24 emergency services are provided. Physician services are provided one day per week. Client visits to the clinic average 1000 visits per month.
Access to the community is by air and during the winter months by ice road.
